About
Why We Exist
Australia faces a growing shortage of aviation professionals — air traffic controllers, pilots, engineers — while strong mathematics foundations remain the number one bottleneck for students pursuing these pathways.
SeedTree was founded by a team with software engineering backgrounds, now also completing a Master's in Mathematics Education and preparing to work as mathematics teachers in Australian schools. This combination — classroom teaching practice with modern engineering — is what the AI era of education calls for. We partner with a current commercial airline pilot (formerly ROKAF fighter pilot, now flying long-haul US routes) who authors the aviation context behind every problem — connecting textbook mathematics to the real decisions made in a cockpit.
Because the team sustains itself through teaching practice rather than venture funding, there is no planned end-of-life for this service. Partner schools and TAFE programs can rely on continuity — we build and maintain what we use in our own classrooms.
Our mission: strengthen the mathematics pipeline into Australian aviation careers, starting with the public schools that need it most.
Mission
SeedTree Aviation Mathematics provides aviation-context maths resources to partner schools free of charge. We believe every student, regardless of their school's budget, deserves engaging resources that connect mathematics to their real-world interests.
Access & Eligibility
This is not an open individual-student service. Resources are provided free of charge to partner Public Primary & Secondary Schools under a school-level agreement.
Because we cover all delivery, support, and hosting costs ourselves, capacity is limited. We release access in the following priority order:
- Schools with a direct aviation / aerospace connection (AGISP, Aviation High, dedicated aeroskills or aerospace pathway programs)
- Public Primary & Secondary Schools partnering with us as capacity allows
We expand capacity as fundraising and partnerships grow. Individual students cannot self-enrol — if you'd like these resources, please ask your school to contact us.
Content Credentials
Every aviation scenario in these materials has been reviewed for accuracy by a former Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) fighter pilot who also served as a commercial airline first officer. This covers both the military aviation perspective (combat manoeuvres, formation flying, tactical navigation) and civil aviation operations (ATC communication, approach procedures, airline operations).
The mathematics content is developed by a qualified mathematics teacher with software development experience, ensuring both pedagogical soundness and technical accuracy in the interactive components.
Who This Is For
- AGISP Schools — Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program (30 QLD schools)
- Aviation High Schools — Schools with dedicated aeroskills and aerospace pathways (e.g., Aviation High, Hendra)
- TAFE Aviation — Pilot and aircraft maintenance students preparing for Part 66 Module 1 mathematics
- Flight Schools & Cadets — Any student building navigation and bearing calculation skills
